Strap your seatbelts! It’s time to race in the best cars from the best manufacturers of the world. Gameloft is out with another instalment to their racing series called ‘Asphalt 7: Heat’. Asphalt is one of the most popular racing series on the mobile gaming platform and with every new version of the game the guys at Gameloft raise the bar higher! Being labelled as the ‘most visually stunning’ Asphalt of them all, we’re going to find out how much better or worse this game has gotten and where it stands compared to the ultimate benchmark (no prizes for guessing this one).
Asphalt 7: Heat Game Review
For starters, let me point out that Asphalt is an arcade racer unlike ‘Real Racing’ (the benchmark) which is a proper racing simulator. And hence by no means should there be drawn a comparison between the two. However, there are certain aspects that are common to any car racing game irrespective of the genre, such as graphics, feel, car handling and to some extent the physics. And to be honest, Asphalt still lacks in most of the above said areas barring one, in which it has made a remarkable makeover – its visuals!

Even with this new release, the game’s flagship still remains the same – those sixty distinctive licensed cars that boast of some of the biggest names in the automotive world like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and many more! You get to race across 15 different tracks including the ones in the popular cities like London, Paris, Miami, Hawaii and Rio. These tracks are playable in six different modes providing a total of 150 races to speed through. The multiplayer mode supports up to 5 players and works by finding your opponents either globally or locally. In the quick play mode, you can race on a random track (spin option) or choose from knock offs, drifts, king of the hill and from a host of different options till you find a way of burning some rubber that suits your liking. The game runs smoothly without any amount of lag. The controls come with a variety of options so you get to take your time and select something you are absolutely comfortable with.

To sum things up, ‘Asphalt 7: Heat’ is a great game but only for the casual gamers and the non serious speed freaks. Its for the kind of people who love to drive fast but end up being idiots on road, who love racing but know nothing about motorsports or the technicalities involved. For the rest of us out there, for the minorities, this still remains a work-in-progress!
