Humanity is preparing to strike back after the mindless alien aggression of 2009. The time for alien resurrection is back on the greatest tower defence action game called “Boom Brigade 2” by 10 tons. This dynamic game was incorporated from the earlier version of “Boom Brigade”. But still this newly developed game has few additional modes with 3 whole chapters for you gamers to defend.

Your mission in this game is just to defend your bunker from the enemy alien scum. The bunker pushes out few firing cannons and missile launchers; each one of these weaponries have their own way of hitting the aliens. Some are under powered with limited firing range but move faster while some are heavily armed carrying more powerful weapons like the multi rocket launchers, uranium rounds and so on. Troopers are to be guided to fight the enemy priority target first and then the closest enemy of the bunker. The gameplay is pretty much effortless thanks to the fact that the troopers fire automatically when the enemies are in their circular aiming radii. Special targeting for extra priority on aliens is just done by tapping on an alien.

The movement of the troops are controlled by drawing a path from any trooper. Your orders are to defend the base while the troops push back the aliens pouring from the chasm. You will be rated on a scale of five stars on every victory of the battle; the stars reduce with your troops going down and the amount of damages they take. The game starts with 3 waves right from the (striking back) chapter 1 mission 1. As you level up the waves also increases. These waves are nothing but stages of difficulty which actually test your potential abilities on defending your tower bunker. This game is filled with 3 hand crafted campaign chapters and 30 missions with 10 missions in each chapter. ‘The Sniper’ which is a new added character play, sets the target from a distance and launches missiles for a direct hit. On each victory of a combat, unique upgrades are provided for your troopers or the weapons get a range boost.

Don’t forget to collect power ups which are air dropped and which can be obtained by running them over. There are 2 different categories of power ups which land near your base. The first is more of a life saver power up which contains the health packs to heal and refill your trooper’s life bar, the repairs pack to reconstruct the destructed bunkers and the ‘Alien Pet’ power up that spawns a friendly alien to help you. The second category has power ups that can deliver your troops with some extraordinary alien weapons like a swarm of missiles, a temporary shield to protect your bunker, the ‘Artillery Strike’ or few others which makes your troopers faster and tougher.

If you’re failing on a level, don’t back off because you can still retry the failed levels in the tactical mode, where you can pause the battle by tapping the red visible marker found on the left bottom of your screen and change the orders by routing your troops to strike the ugly aliens. ‘Boom Brigade’ game lovers will enjoy the addition of this new tactical mode which wasn’t a part of the earlier version. The sounds featured in the game are so realistic that the gameplay begins to feel like real combat with heavy weapons. What makes Boom Brigade 2 even more challenging is that every alien monster is different in terms of its behaviour and that makes it tricky to predict their attack strategy. The struggle trying to win this wonderful combat game sure comes at a price. But if you want to be a ruling commander in the battle field then this game is worth shelling out $3.99 from your pocket.
