A new gaming app called ‘Crow’ for iOS by Sunside Inc. glides into the app store this week. From its first looks, the trailer and all the buzz on the internet, this does appear to be one of the weeks better releases. The iTunes page already features some heavy weight reviews from the bigger web publications – so lets get straight to the point and find out what all that ’Cawing’ is about.

Crow Game Review

A story driven action-adventure featuring a crow hovering over a farmland and an evil laughter in the background! This definitely is not the most perfect way to start my Wednesday morning. ‘Crow’ sure seems like an amazing idea for a game and I was honestly waiting to get my hands on this app for a few days now but the way this game has turned out to be is a total disappointment.

The game is about a crow who you control, while he flies through the skies looking for trinkets so you can teach him new skills and help him fight challenging boss battles. Immersed in dramatic music and a over the top story line that makes no sense at all, this game miserably fails at what it tries VERY hard to offer, and that is a cult action-adventure experience.

Even at a very basic level of user interaction, the gameplay and the storyline just do not appeal! They failed to keep me hooked for even a few minutes. In fact, the thirty minutes that I gave this game was such a traumatizing experience of trying to play through the levels and see if I get any positives out of it at all. I’m still not sure about all those rave reviews that the game’s description boasts of on its iTunes page (Wednesday morning blues? )

Crow is overpriced and over-hyped! The game is an amalgamation of concepts that seem to be a total misfit. If it really matters and if you were to take my advice on this one, I’d have to be honest that you’re better off shooing this ‘Crow’ away. But if you really want to waste $4.99 and 264 mb of your iDevice’s space then you’re free to try this one at your own risk!
