Verdict: Very Good Release date: Jun 21, 2012 Genre: MMORPG Developer: Supercell Publisher: Supercell Price: Free |
SuperCell has started their iOS journey with the launch of ‘Hay Day’. This game falls under the genre of games that has been widely accepted by a million people. Hay Day is an improvised version of your standard MMORPG games on the App Store. It would be a little unfair if we compared this game to others like it because this app has its own appeal. The developers have not only successfully integrated a lot of features that make this game look awesome but have also kept it very user friendly. And that seems to be lacking in most of the games in this genre which are available not only on iOS but on other platforms too.
Hay Day Game Review
Hay Day is a perfect example of how a MMORPG game should be. In this game players get to run a farm in which they can harvest crop, breed animals like chicken, sheep, cows and pigs and convert the raw produced by them into goods that can be sold in the diary market to make money. Unlike your standard farm games, Hay Day does not limit users to farming and breeding alone but lets you take it to the next step where you can even run a bakery and produce yummy food. And that’s not all; you can even build your own processing facilities like sugar mills and looms. Speeding up the process like cleaning up the farm and other objectives for every level can be easily accomplished by using coins and in-app purchases.

The other features of this game that makes it distinct are its precise controls that are required to harvest crops, feed the animals and do other chores in the farm all of which can be done with a simple swipe. The background music and visuals of Hay Day are good. We especially loved the characters – all of them, right from the animals to the people who keep showing up on your farm. The game allows you to connect with friends using Facebook and GameCenter, which means you can trade goods and coins with them.

Like other MMORPGs even this game contains a lot of in-app purchases, which might not be necessary if you’re a patient player. But come on, there is no harm in spending a dollar or two to appreciate the work gone into making this amazing game (that’s free!). Most of our team members at AppCroc have never been fans of games like ‘Hay Day’ but after having played this, our opinions are changing. Thanks to the guys at SuperCell who (in spite of the abundance in farm games) have brought us a game that feels different and is fun to play. All we have to say is that the game is ‘Excellent’ or shall we say ‘EGG-CELLENT’!
