The official app of the ‘Ice Age’ movie series is finally out and available for download on iTunes for free. Ice Age Village definitely has added more fun to the ice age series. It’s unfortunate when developers misinterpret the movie in a few games but here it’s a job well done by Gameloft because the characters feel so lively and reflect the movie in the game.

Help Manny, Ellie, Diego and Sid build a new home for their friends who are dislodged because of the saber-toothed squirrel Scrat who caused the surface of the earth to crack as a result of his obsession with acorns. Ice Age Village is a simulation game with its own unique twist. In this beautifully developed game you would build homes, take care of the people living in them, decorate the place, feed them, collect coins to strengthen your economy and do much more.

Sid’s obsession for babies just seems to have taken a new turn as he insists not only for a companion for the displaced ones but 2 babies in order to complete a family. Complete families to earn stars and always look out for the icons on the characters to complete a mission. This can also be done by clicking on the goal icon. Ice Age Village has mini games that are really amusing and brilliant, we loved scrats hunt, which we found very similar to fruit ninja.

You can also connect with your buddies using Facebook or Gameloft Live but the feature is not enabled until you complete 5 levels. The graphics are first-class and so are the sounds and controls. If you are among the impatient few, then you can shell out a few bucks for the in-app purchases.

There are chances that this game might be a promotional app for the upcoming instalment to the Ice Age movie series called ‘Continental Drift’ but it still proves to be a great game and that’s what actually matters. On the whole, Ice Age Village is a very well crafted and a very addictive game that will certainly add a lot of smiles to a lot of faces.
