On The Wind by ‘Don’t Step On The Cracks’ is one of the most unique concepts that we’ve seen being utilized in an mobile gaming application. The promos and teasers of ‘On The Wind’ have been creating quite a buzz on YouTube and Twitter. But how much of this amazing concept translates into an engaging game is what we have to find out!
On The Wind Game Review
The idea behind this game is simple. Control the flow of wind with your finger tip while collecting as many leaves from the trees as you can. The game stops if you run out of leaves and hence you have to try and keep some leaves floating in the air at any point. You control the gust of wind and its direction with finger strokes on your iDevice.
The game tends to get particularly tricky while trying to direct the wind through the twisty turny terrain, over large rocks and through underground cracks and crevices. The highpoint has definitely got to be getting back into the game after the moment when you’re almost out of leaves and down to just one or two of them. The game sports great visuals and classy artwork and the wind-chime like music definitely compliments the theme.
The only downside is the fact that since your finger needs to be in constant contact with your gust of wind laden with leaves, it can sometimes become quite tricky to judge how many leaves you’re left with (because your finger completely covers that part of the screen) since you will certainly not be able to see them. On the whole, this is otherwise a pretty engaging game that is extremely simple to play. On The Wind is available for downloads on the app store and is priced at $1.99
