Splat Attack Game Review
To start this review off on a very honest note, my first impression of Splat Attack was of it being just another tower defence game. But I thank my stars for leading me on to stumbling across this game while digging through the endless list of the daily requests for game reviews on AppCroc. The trailer sort of caught my attention and I wasted no time in downloading this beauty on to my iDevice, only to be blown away!
Pure entertainment and extreme addiction are terms that best describe Splat Attack’s core gameplay. The shooting action on the turret works more like a sling. You have to tap and pull back, while the turret draws a line along the direction in which you aim. Keep shooting at bees to bump them, push them and squash them and don’t forget to keep collecting your health and coins. The bullets bounce of whatever they hit (be it the bees or the side walls) but the bouncing is restricted to two times beyond which, the bullet is lost.

Watch out for the bees that slow down bullets and also ones that shoot ninja stars. Collecting coins can help you upgrade weapons on your turret at the store. You can add ninja stars, ice lance, beetle bombs, bug lights, baby turrets or even health and coin boosters. And if you think the first few levels are easy, wait till you progress up the levels because watching those bees slowly creep past the turret while you’re doing all you can to kill them is actually such an addictive edge of the seat moment that you’ll find it hard to stop playing this game.

To sum it up, Splat Attack is a stunner. The concept is simple and the story isn’t unique either but its the gameplay that adds so much value to this game. Its not often that we find first time game builders or indie developers delivering such a fine masterpiece. Splat Attack, for us is easily one of the finest games of the year. So give it a shot! Because for 99 cents a piece, it’s a steal!
