LeBron James will be 40 by the end of the year, but that didn’t stop the Los Angeles Lakers from handing him a big check.

Of course, James is not like the average 40-year-old person or even athlete.

Besides his God-given physical traits and athleticism, he’s taken the best possible care of his body throughout the course of his entire career, and it’s paid off.

Shortly after the news broke of his new contract, James shared a clip on social media showing that he’s ready to take the floor right now (via Legion Hoops).

James goes harder in the gym at 39 than most people in their 20s, and chances are not even some NBA players could keep up with him at this point in his life.

James got a two-year contract worth a whopping $104 million, including a player option in the second season and a no-trade clause.

Of course, James is no longer a good defender, but expecting him to go all-out on both ends of the floor at this point in his career would be simply unfair and unrealistic.

And while the Lakers might not be a championship-caliber team, fans will continue to flood the arena and buy jerseys for as long as LeBron James is running out there on the court.
